BAIZOU Next-generation forging machine "BAIZOU"

A kneading press machine utilizing Japan's only orbital forging technology.

Only the upper die performs an orbital motion and incrementally deforms the workpiece in small contact zones.
In other words, by applying pressure locally and continuously, the process avoids large, instantaneous shock loads.

  • gently No noise or vibration.
    Space-saving

The orbital forging structure allows processing with relatively low forming force, resulting in a more compact design than presses of the same capacity. Furthermore, because it does not involve the impact loading of conventional presses, it produces less noise and vibration, thereby improving the working environment.

  • powerful With a small amount of pressure,
    High rigidity/high precision

The spherical orbital section and pressure table are housed within a four-pillar integrated frame, providing high rigidity and stable machining conditions. Speed and forming pressure are controlled by a servo motor and ball screw. High-precision spherical bearings further ensure consistent machining accuracy.

  • long life High lifespan・
    Maintenance-free

Because the main shaft bearing structure is spherical, it can receive loads over a large area, resulting in excellent load-bearing capacity, deformation resistance, and a long lifespan. Long-term maintenance-free usage data from a major automotive parts manufacturer proves its high reliability and durability.

Principle of the next-generation forging machine

次世代型鍛造機の原理

When drilling a hole in a sheet metal plate with a hole saw cutter, simply pressing straight down won't work well even with significant pressure. However, if you apply a swaying motion (like grinding miso paste) to the cutter, you can easily drill a hole. The next-generation forging machine uses the same principle, applying a swaying motion to the upper die of a conventional lower ram press.

Comparison with other forging machines

forging machine Cutting processing BAIZOU
space Compared to BAIZOU, it requires more force and the machinery is larger. Besides the main unit, there are many other necessary pieces of equipment such as tool shelves and chip boxes, which take up a lot of space. Because it can process with minimal force, the machine can be miniaturized and easily integrated into existing production lines.
Material costs Because it is stretched and shaped, the amount of material required is minimal. The maximum diameter requires material, which increases the cost. Because it is formed by stretching, the amount of material required is minimal.
Workability In the case of hot forging, a pre-heating process is required. Forming can be done simply by changing the die. Although there are no preceding steps, the process tends to be lengthy, requiring tool changes each time, which makes it time-consuming. Because it can be formed by cold forming, no prior processing is required. The process can be completed simply by changing the die.
productivity Suitable for mass production Suitable for small-scale production. It produces a large amount of metal shavings, resulting in significant waste. Ideal for high-mix, low-volume production. Minimizes waste by producing no chips.
Noise There was a loud noise. It is relatively quiet among processing machines. Despite being a forging machine, it features a quiet design.
vibration The vibrations are so strong that anchoring is essential. Low vibration Low vibration, so anchors are generally not required.
